Udupi: Union minister Shobha Karandlaje to lead BJP's 'Janasheervada Yatra'

Udupi, Aug 17: Union minister for agriculture and farmers welfare, Shobha Karandlaje, will be leading the BJP's 'Janasheervada Yatra'. The Yatra, which is aimed at introducing the new central ministers to the public, is being held all over the country as desired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and BJP national president J P Nadda. This was stated by Udupi district BJP president Kuilady Suresh Nayak.

Nayak addressed a press conference on Monday August 16 at the district office of the BJP here. He said that the Yatra began on Monday.

"Under the leadership of minister and MP, Shobha Karandlaje, the Yatra will arrive at Hebri on August 18 evening. On that occasion, the district BJP will accord a warm welcome there," he explained.

The Janasheervada Yatra in Karnataka is being guided by four union ministers. Various programmes have been lined up in the district on August 19. At 11 am that day, a convention of the Janasheervada Yatra will be held at the townhall here where Karandlaje, who became union minister recently, will be felicitated. New ministers, MLAs, party leaders and office bearers of different levels as well as people's representatives and workers will participate, he added.

District BJP general secretary Kutyaru Naveen Shetty, district spokesperson Guruprasad Shetty Katapady, district joint spokesperson Shivakumar Ambalpady and district media convener Srinidhi Hegde Hirebettu were present.

The list of programmes to be led by Shobha are as follows:

Wednesday: 7.15 pm - Yatra to be welcomed at Hebri, 8.30 - Yatra to be received at Hiriadka, 9.30 pm, visit to district BJP office, 10 pm - food and stay in Udupi.

Thursday: 8.00 am visit to Srikrishna Mutt, 8.30 am - meeting Swamiji, 9.30 am - breakfast, 10 am - press conference at Diana Hotel Udupi, 10.30 am - Offering floral tributes at the army martyr's memorial at Ajjarkad Udupi, 11.00 am - visiting vaccination centre. 11.30 am - Convention of Janasheervada Yatra and felicitation to newly sworn in union minister, Shobha Karandlaje.

1.00 pm - Interaction with select beneficiaries of various central government schemes, lunch (mini town hall Udupi). 2 pm - visit to ration distribution centre Brahmavar, 3 pm - inauguration of oxygen plant at Kundapur government hospital.

    Its so ironic and pathetic. Congress cadres or potential leaders who joined the party at the time when Shoba joined BJP are now crying and ashamed of themselves. Shoba has become a minister, but these guys are still foot soldiers , canvassing , distributing pampletes, being chelas of Ramu Kaakas.

    Instead of theatrics ..wasting public money time etc Have to get back to serious work and try whatever possible in remaining time before elections...to solve various problems .. Otherwise Jhaadu or broom will be shown by voters next election.

    Though sarcastic, I agree with your thoughts. I hope no one is provoked or lured into a protest and later get caught when others stay at home. . We saw it in the so called '2nd Independence struggle' called by DK Congress chelas.Be careful guys!!!

    Jossy Tauro, Mangalore They already getting ready for 3rd wave. Our Govt. is astrologers, they 3 rd wave is coming you see. This Govt.is not worried about Covid's suffering. They are more worried about Yartras, Changing seats, cabinets, Posts, Processions, Communal. etc.

    They should have taken out yatra to apologize people for all the Covid19 deaths. With this yatra do they want to show people of Karnataka that they have bought all these MLA for 500 crore rupees and formed a government? Shame on them.
