Bengaluru: Notion about Mahatma Gandhi's non-violence bringing freedom is partially true - C T Ravi

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Aug 17: By issuing a statement in the past that India did not secure freedom because of Mahatma Gandhi's principle of nonviolence, BJP MP Ananth Kumar Hegde had courted controversy. His statement had given rise to debates and criticisms.

Now, BJP national general secretary C T Ravi, who also happens to be a former Karnataka minister, has issued a similar statement. When praising Veer Savarkar for his sacrifices, he said that it would be a half-truth if we give the entire credit for India becoming independent to Mahatma Gandhi's principle of non-violence.

A function to release a book, 'Veer Savarkar' authored by Vikram Sampath had been organized at Taj Hotel here. Speaking on the occasion, Ravi said that Veer Savarkar is a role model for everyone. He mentioned that Savarkar was the first to think of Hindutva but it had created a controversy then. "But now people have come to accept the notion of Hindutva. Our history has inflicted injustice on some people. Some had the facility of table and pen to author their autobiographies but Savarkar did not have these facilities when in jail. Articles and literature about him are coming out now. At the same time, the claim that Gandhiji's ideal of non-violence brought us freedom is a half-truth," he added.

Ravi said that after India became independent, even Ambedkar did not get justice. "If we are able to find an answer to why India got bifurcated after independence, we will be able to understand Savarkar's eminence," he said.

CT’s controversies have crossed all the limits, this is becoming a daily business. Absolute nonsense and utter waste of time. I wonder what is his actual job and responsibilities if any. Why he is there in that position and why he is getting paid by tax payers’ hard earned money. Surely people will lose patience very soon.

“Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth. (said of Mahatma Gandhi)” ― Albert Einstein, Eulogy ---by one of the the greatest scientist ------------------- -------------------------------------------- minions+ cowards- pseudos -- who think or give the impression - violence etc - should know - Gandhiji and his followers faced lathis - bullets - various other threats - imprisonment for years - fasting etc - but based their movement on non violence to obtain freedom- the whole movement was to tell the british - you are here illegally and not drive them out by way of a guerrilla movement etc etc -- a big struggle -- It is to be understood Gun power was the strength of the British and eliminating violent protesters was the easiest - but when one bases a movement on non violence it became more and more difficult and eventually had to leave -

Our freedom fighters were very intelligent people and did indeed consider an armed resistance but discarded this approach because this would give rise to a violent and lawless society. They openly debated this numerous times in congress sessions and hence the separation from Subash Chandra Bose.

The quote “Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it” is attributed to the American philosopher George Santayana - India's strength has been its soft power and gradually because of half baked nincompoop's we are loosing this great advantage----- In international forums we are becoming a laughing stock ----- for argument sake if we think we are powerful - fact is ---we cannot handle ordinary issues around our neighborhood - CHINA -MYANMAR - NEPAL - NOW AFGHAN issue etc - PAK - KASHMIR -- SRILANKA -- maldives ---- While our citizens brought back in nick of time - thank god from Afghanistan - -- (BEING AN IMMEDIATE NEIGHBOUR AND EAVES DROPPING SORT OF ON HAPPENINGS --) Basic intelligence should have warned of the Fall of KABUL well in advance say at least few days --

A clear FEKU Hindusm approach..., The father of nation - Mahatma Gandhiji's freedom movement was embedded with REAL Hinduism... like - "Sarva Dharma Samabhava, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and above all Ahimsa Paramo Dharma", .... seems like CT lost his mental balance & wisdom quotient..., a Gandhi/Nehru phobia ridden ideology..., Shame on these kind of people..... Time for all REAL Hindu believers to come together to defeat FEKU Hinduism proponents..., who work for the crony capitalist... (agents of Britishers)..
