Mangaluru: Five from Dakshina Kannada airlifted from Afghanistan

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 23: The government has continued with the task of rescuing Indian citizens stranded in Afghanistan. Out of seven Kannadigas who returned to their homeland on Sunday August 22, five were from Mangaluru.

Dinesh Rai from Bajpe, Jagadish Poojary from Hosangady near Moodbidri, Desmond Davis D'Souza from Kinnigoli Pakshikere, Prasand Anand from Thokkottu and Shravan Anchan from Urwa were airlifted from Afghanistan on Sunday. Two others, Heerak Debnath from Marathahalli Bengaluru and Tanveer Ballari Abdul from Sandur Ballari also reached New Delhi on Sunday.

They came back in an Air India Express flight and an Indian Air Force flight. They were taken to Qatar from Afghanistan before bringing them here. They are expected to reach their homes on Monday.

Dear Rita from Germany, Can I ask, what are the nuns and priests doing in Afghanistan? When the Italian and South Korean aid workers were released from captivity of Talibans for an undisclosed sum of money paid by their governments to the Talibans, they were greeted back to their country with reappraisal and were asked by the tax payers of their respective countries as to what were there doing in the first place? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2001/nov/16/afghanistan.terrorism16 https://www.reuters.com/article/us-korea-hostages-idUSSEO26854720070902 Not just them, several other European and Australians were similarly captured. There is mad competition between Angelical and Catholics. Why? Can we therefore ask, what are you praying the lord for? What are Indian Christian priests and Nuns doing in Afghanistan in the first place? When are we Indians going to go out of the false pretext provided by secularism and ask the real questions?

Thank God these people came safely back from Afghanistan. It is a failure on the part of US and its allies that they ditched the majority of peace loving Afghans and allowed the Taliban with a dangerous ideology to recapture their country. Now these Taliban will send millions of refugees(some with a fanatic and extremist ideology) to the Western countries. The Western World does not know the hidden agenda of these fanatics and their financiers as well as their sympathizers. The extremist ideology of these modern day fanatics is to spread and propagate it all over the world especially in the Western world. Not a single Islamic country will admit a single refugee from Adghanistan but the Western countries will admit them in millions just like they admitted millions and millions of other Muslim countries on humanitarian grounds. Taliban invasion of Afghanistan is a victory for our arch enemy Pakistan, ISIS and all Jehadists. It is a threat for our country India and the free world. The policy of US and its allies is totally defective as they consider Communism is their number one enemy. But Taliban, ISIS, Al Qaeda and Jihadist ideology is more dangerous than Communists. We must pray and hope that the world will unite to fight against these fanatics tooth and nail. India Russia and China must join together with US and its allies to fight unitedly against these dangerous and crooked extremists. Just like Mrs. Indira Gandhi who taught a lesson to Pakiatn in 1971 by splitting them into two countries India with the help of the free united World must defeat these extremists regimes sooner than later.

Hindus and Sikhs are a decimated, miniscule minority in Afghanistan left at the mercy of terrorists. Their lives are more in danger than stranded foreigners. Be broadminded and try to understand the situation.

The afghan muslim men do not have any risk or harm from Taliban. It's thes3 minorities which will get killed if seen. Use some brains. Women, minority and people who helped in the development of the Afghan govt are the ones at risk not Muslims. None of the Arab countries have come forward in rescuing anyone which mindset is that? They are busy holding meetings with these terrorists....

Previously from war affected zone Yemen Sunni-Shia conflict belt from where in we are also airlifted nationalities from other developed countries is appreciated by one n all. Even UN praised Indian government in this regard. After 2014 we have improved relationship with most of all countries. Jai Ho Modiji..and BJP. Moreover now NRI's feel much safe in other countries.
