Vijayapura, Aug 23: "Because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we Hindus are safe in India. There is a need to gun down Indigenous Talibanis. The Talibanis of Afghanistan are killing others. We too have to hunt people in tune with their policies. If we do not fire at them, they become a pest for the country," said MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, in tune with his habit of issuing controversial statements.

Speaking in the city, he termed the intelligentsia which does not speak about Afghanistan as the progeny of the Talibanis. He also demanded that other than Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains coming in from Afghanistan, others should not be allowed entry into India. "If they still insist on coming to India, they should agree to become Hindus, Jains, Buddhists or Jains," he insisted.

He wanted to know why Rahul Gandhi has not been speaking about the Talibanis. He also expressed surprise at the silence of Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar on the issue. He remarked that these people would have imported the Talibanis if Modi was not the Prime Ministers. He also asked the Khans of Bollywood who feel unsafe in India to go to Afghanistan now.

He said he does not know the religion to which Rahul Gandhi belongs as he is neither a Hindu, nor Christian. He also demanded to teach a fitting lesson to people like Owaisi who speak against their own motherland. On the issue of a post made by a youth from Jamakhandi in favour of Talibanis, he asked such people to be sent to Talibanis.

Yatnal also gave a tongue lashing to the Swamijis for not speaking anything about the excesses in Afghanistan. "We have some unfit Swamijis. In their discourses, they keep repeating about Hindu-Muslim brotherhood," he commented.
