Kasargod: Accused who fled from Covid observation centre arrested

Kasargod, Aug 26: Police on Thursday August 26 arrested an accused who fled from a Covid observation center five months ago.

The arrested accused is identified as Naushad Sheik (36) of Muladka. He was arrested in connection to smuggling narcotic drugs. He was arrested from the railway station in Kasargod on Thursday morning.

It is said that on March 27, he was arrested with narcotic drugs in possession from Ambalathara. As he tested positive for Covid-19, he was admitted to a Covid-19 observation center at Kanhangad. After four days, he fled from the center. Police were on the lookout for him.

Police received definite information that the accused was visiting his friend in Tallangeri. He was arrested while he was travelling on a scooter. Though the accused tried to flee from the spot, police were successful in arresting him.
