Dubai: Stage Set for SMKC’s ‘Konkan Showers-2010’

Dubai, Oct 5: ‘Konkan Shoowers 2010’, organized by St.Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC), promises to be a night of culture and entertainment at Al Nasr Leisure Land from early evening on Thursday October 14.
Tickets are on sale and table bookings of 10 are being accepted right away with table numbers allotted at the time of booking.

Tickets are priced at AED. 100 per person for table seating and gallery seating is AED. 60. Entry is free for children below 5 years of age.
The ticket price is inclusive of a sumptuous dinner and the ice rink will double as a dance floor for the night.
The programme will begin on time and early bird prizes as well as gifts for best dressed couple and many other such prizes will be given away. The co-hostess will be Vaishali Rods. Gifts will be international airline tickets to European sectors and India, electronic goods including kitchen appliances to household items, watches and perfumes, gift hampers and hotel vouchers.
This event, as in the past, will be conducted in both Konkani and English. Eric Ozario of ‘Mandd Sobhann’ fame and his wife Joyce, Alwyn Fernandes, Prakash, and Zeena as well as other musicians and dancers will enthrall the crowd with melodies of bygone days besides new melodies. Arun Raj Rodrigues will be flown in from Mangalore to conduct the programme in Konkani and other artists on trumpets and saxophone will pipe in with music.
A stand-up comedy will be performed by the famous Daiji Rang Mandir team. Ocean Kids group will present dances to pep up the audience’s spirits. Famous Baila songs by Baila King Eric Ozario, and non-stop music will continue until the wee hours of Friday morning.
