Dubai, Oct 14: ‘Kalasangama’s ‘Oriyordori Assal’ troupe, led by renowned theatre personality, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, landed in Dubai on Wednesday October 13 at around 8.30 pm. As the members of the troupe made a beeline for leaving the airport from terminal 1, broad smiles could be seen on the faces of every artiste. They are here to stage two plays, ‘Kutumba’ and ‘Seetha Teacher’, both of which are rib-tickling comedies that are sure to make the people laugh, laugh and laugh all through the shows and thereafter.
Vijay Kumar Kodialbail is one of the few highly talented and versatile dramatists, who can entertain and drive home their points through the plays. He is a gifted writer, director and lyricist. The unique feature of his plays is that they always have a good storyline, and have a social message in them. He started his career with his ‘Kode, Ini, Yelle,’ a social drama that gave him a good break. Later, his ‘Oriyardori Assal’ became a landmark in the history of Tulu theatre with endless number of shows. This play has recently been made into a movie. This film is due to be released during November this year.
This happens to be Vijayakumar’s fourth visit to Dubai, including the one for the release of his tele-film, ‘Baravudha Bandasale’. He plans to stage his new play titled ‘Ajjer’, soon after the release of his film.
Vijayakumar is happy to stage his twin Tulu dramas as part of the maiden show for ‘Nama Tuluveru UAE’, which is celebrating its three years of existence. ‘Nama Tuluveru’ has decided to hand over the proceeds from these shows to two special needs schools in Mangalore.
