Pune, Oct 19: The first annual general body meeting of Pune Bunts’ Association was held at Poona Club cinema hall here, recently. The meeting was presided over by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy member and well-known Yakshagana artiste Sarapady Ashok Shetty.
In his presidential address, Ashok Shetty said that the prime objective of the Bunts Sangh is to alleviate the gap between the rich and the poor in the society and to create a better society by responding to the grievances of multi-cultured and multi-religious people.

Meanwhile, Ashok Shetty urged the community brethren to promote their mother tongue Tulu and its distinct culture among the new generation.
Pune Bunts Sangh founder president Vinayaprasad Hegde Mundkoor, chief secretary Subash Hegde, cultural wing president Sudhir Shetty, Pimpri – Chinchwad Bunts Sangh former president Vishwanth Shetty, vice-president Shivaram Shetty, vice-president Roopraj Shetty Mundkoor, education committee president Anand Shetty, women’s wing president Sujatha S Hegde, secretary Veena K Shetty, treasurer Sudhindra Shetty and Gurudev Seva Balaga president Narayan Shetty, were present on the dais.
The programme began with a prayer song by Nalini S Shetty and Swapna Shetty. Sharmila Rai proposed the vote of thanks while Kemtoor Sudhakar Shetty compered the programme.
