Kundapur, Oct 1: Chief secretary of Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV), Karnataka south province said, “It is condemnable that the video of slaughtering cows mercilessly and cruelly and making the same viral on social media.”
A huge protest march was held by HJV at Gangolli in the taluk against cow slaughtering and urging the administration to exile the cow slaughterers. Later a protest meeting was held. Speaking further on the occasion, Ullas said, “There was no need for Hindus to file a case against the sadists who made the video of slaughtering the cow viral. Police should have registered a suo moto case against them and would have exiled them under the Goonda Act. But they file cases against the protectors of cow and not the slaughterers.
“Cow is an animal which has humane feelings. We drink its milk. It is like mother for us. Killing cow is like killing our own mother. Cows are being stolen from homes of Hindus by brandishing swords. Suitable legal action should be taken against such people.
“Though anti-cow slaughter bill is implemented in the state, it seems that Gangolli police station is not aware of the same. Hindu society is united to fight against these kinds of acts. Suitable action needs to be taken against cow slaughterers. The district administration has to demolish illegal mosques. All are facing problems due to the Azaan on loudspeakers. Fight against the atrocities on Hindu society is inevitable. The cow thieves should be arrested and exiled soon,” he said.
An appeal on the same subject was submitted to tahsildar Kiran Gowraiah.
Prakash Kukkehalli, chief secretary of HJV, Mangaluru division, Prashant Nayak, district president Udupi, Govind Sherugar, president Gangolli, leaders Vasudeva Gagolli, Naveen Gangolli, Yashawant Gangolli and Mahesh Byndoor were present.
Thousands took part in the protest march called for by the Gangolli unit of HJV against cow slaughtering. The procession started from port office and concluded at Ram Mandir. Women also participated in large numbers. Gangolli town was closed voluntarily by the traders.
