President Ram Nath Kovind arrives in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Oct 7: President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in the city on Thursday October 7. He is on a state tour from October 6 to 8.

The President arrived at Mangaluru International Airport after attending a programme at Chamarajanagar.

He will stay at circuit house overnight. He will proceed to Sringeri in the morning on Friday October 8.

The President will return from Sringeri to Mangaluru in the evening on Friday and will stay overnight. He will fly to New Delhi from the airport in the morning on October 9.

Security was beefed up from Mangaluru airport to the circuit house.

    VIPs should visit Mangalore only then road from Airport to circuit house will be free from potholes and the surroundings will be clean grass trimmed from the dividers and side of the roads. Otherwise our city corporation is least bothered .

    I visited Sringeri just last week. It was for the 4th time. What is regretful is that even after thousands of years, a very iconic temple town does not even have descent restaurants near the Temple. More importantly, what is shocking is that there are no toilets (especially for ladies) despite the thousands of visitors daily! The temple's exit has a small toilet that is always crowded. The only restaurant near the temple has no toilet either! Pray and hoping this visit of another VVIP, will ensure some bare basic facilities for everyone!! Swachh Bharat pls.

    Dear President... Please don’t come to Mangalore again... Traffic jams everywhere... Today I saw a ambulance struggling near KPT because of your security... One of the busiest streets of Mangalore has been blocked for the whole evening... With or without your presence Mangalore has survived and it will survive... If your life is important then the citizens life is equally important...

    Today because of his so called arrival we regular folks were blocked on the road! Police were like "we wil sieze your vehicle if you go this way, go that way" I mean all this for what? He is supposed to come after 30 mins.
