Mumbai, Oct 25: The Kotiankar Moolastana organization held the annual scholarship distribution and felicitation programme at Mogaveer Bhavan, Veer Desai Road, Andheri here recently.
While felicitating the Kotiankar Moolastana president Vaman R Kotian and Meenakshi V Kotian couple, Shivaram Kotian said that Vaman Kotian has served as the president of the Kotiankar Moolastana organization for almost two decades and is responsible for the growth of the community. He added that the organization has grown significantly due to the selfless service of its members.
Kotiankar Moolastan had been founded in historical location of Kaup light house facing the Arabian Sea in Udupi district. Kotiankar community carried on the contemporary tradition of worshiping Nagabrahma as it was passed on to them from their ancestors. Meanwhile, the Kotiankar community that settled in the city established a branch here, in order to contribute for the welfare of community, said Kotian.
Speaking on the occasion, Vaman R Kotian said that the Moolastana organization is striving to up-lift the community in every sphere of life. The scholarship fund that was established with Rs 10,000 has grown significantly with the generous contribution of community brethren, which has enabled to extend financial assistance to economically-weaker community members and support the visual impaired students of the community.
A large number of Kotiankar community members participated in the programme.
The Moolastan activist Shivaram Kotian, vice-president Shyam Kotian, secretary Krishna Kotian, treasurer Shekar Kotian, Shobha S Kotian and Sumati S Kotian were present on the dais.
Shyam Kotian welcomed the gathering. Krishna Kotian introduced the veteran Vaman R Kotian. Shekar Kotian proposed the vote of thanks.
