Kuwait: Alumni of St Aloysius College Get Together for Rendezvous

Kuwait, Oct 26: Rendezvous-2010, the hallmark event of SACAA Kuwait was held recently at Asia Hall, Kuwait, wherein a large number of alumni and well-wishers of St Aloysius College, Mangalore reunited to celebrate their bond.
The year 2010 being SACAA Kuwait’s successful completion of five years of existence in Kuwait added to the sense of joy and celebration that marked the event.
Rendezvous is an event where Alumni and well-wishers of St Aloysius College come together to celebrate the unique bonding that they share through their college. In addition, there is always the underlying focus on catering to the needs of the underprivileged students and society in Mangalore. Since its inception, SACAA Kuwait has been focussing on its mission of supporting its alma mater through various initiatives under the Aloysian umbrella with the sole objective of supporting and educating children back home.
The event commenced with a brief formal programme. Prashant K, president of SACAA Kuwait welcomed the gathering. To add further flavour to the celebration, founder of SACAA Kuwait, Archie Menezes along with the executive committee of SACAA cut a cake to celebrate the five successful years of existence of the association in Kuwait. The souvenir for the event was then released by Adrian Pais, one of the founding members of SACAA Kuwait.
A dress-up competition based on cartoon or fairy tale characters was conducted for children of various ages, the results of which were as follows:
Category 1-4 years: First place - Sian Colaco
Second place - Adrian Colaco
Category 4-7 years: First place - Nicole Lasrado
Second place - Shania Fernandes
Category 8-12 years:First place - Carice
Second place - Clevon Miranda
DJ Kiran played some fabulous music ranging across all genres thereby keeping almost everyone one their feet for most of the programme. The packed dance floor definitely proved that a mix of fun and social responsibility can be really balanced very well.
During the course of the programme, the SACAA fund raising raffle was conducted. The prizes were as follows.
First prize - Vanessa Castelino
Second prize - Thomas Simon
Third prize - Sairah
Five consolation prizes - Jalaluddeen, Sunil, Ghazal Al Chami, Amith Furtado and Rupert D'Souza.
Throughout the session, fantastic spot prizes kept the entire crowd guessing and waiting for the next set of games and prizes. Merwyn compered the programme and kept the audience completely tuned in throughout the course of the evening.
A sumptuous buffet and a great round of music brought the curtains down on an evening of fun and frolic, leaving the guests yearning for more.
