Jeddah: United Konkani Association Jeddah Celebrates 16th Anniversary

Jeddah, Oct 27: United Konkani Catholic Association (KSA) Jeddah, a non-profitable community group of Mangaloreans celebrated their 16th anniversary in Jeddah, recently.
The members of UKCA Jeddah were gathered in an open hall at the sea shore in Jeddah. Programme commenced with prayer conducted by leader of the group Wilfred D'Souza, Kulshekar. He welcomed the gathering. Roshan Rodrigues Madanthyar was the master of the ceremony.
Various outdoor and indoor games were held. Throw ball match was very exciting and fun-filled. Various Cultural events were also held and children participated and performed with great interest. Bharatanatyam, filmy dance and eestern dance performed by the children thrilled the crowd. Multi-talented Roshan Rodrigues, Madantyar entertained the crowd with his Konkani, Kannada and Hindi songs and he was also the MC for the entire event. DJ Alfred and Aaron D'Souza Bela played some great Konkani and Hindi tracks and kept the crowd going till late night.
Next day the celebration began with prayer conducted by Wilfred Menezes, Halvale and Wilfred D,souza the group leader. Linet D'Silva gave a heart touching message on ‘Humble will be exalted forever'.
After the break several games were conducted and lunch was served with delicious traditional Mangalorean dishes. In the end president Wilfred D’Souza thanked each and every one for their great effort to build UKCA.
Annual report was presented by EC leader. He said that, because of UKCA many poor children got the chance to study in good schools. UKCA reached to help many those who were in need.
Wilfred D’Souza in his vote of thanks remembered all those ex-members who were settled in India and abroad and thanked all the group members, sponsors, well wishers and those who rendered a helping hand directly or indirectly in making this event a memorable one.
UKCA is a non-profitable group was formed in order to reach out to the poor and needy and to meet their social and cultural activities. The group was silently involved in many social service activities during the recent years and the 16 years anniversary is a great achievement to reach the mile stone.
