Priority to get jobs for Kannadigas in private, government, semi-govt sectors

Bengaluru, Nov 1: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has promised to give priority for Kannadigas for getting jobs in private, government and semi-government sectors.

Speaking at the 66th Karnataka Rajyothsava Day celebrations organized by the State Education Department at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday, he said the State Government was try to get 75% jobs to Kannadigas in the skilled and semi-skilled sectors by effectively implementing the employment policy.

He said the State Government would take concerted action for effectively implementing all government orders to ensure Kannada in the administration. The major parts of the recommendations of the first report of the State Administrative Reforms Commission has already been started and 30 government services will be made available to the citizens at their doorsteps from Monday itself and it will be implemented throughout the State from January 26, he said.

Bommai said the steps taken by his predecessor B S Yediyurappa for upgrading 150 Industrial Training Institutes will be completed by this month and students will be able to enjoy the benefits.

The Chief Minister reiterated that his government will strive to ensure that higher education as well as technical education would be offered in the mother tongue of the students as per the New Education Policy so that students are enabled to be ready for competing all over the world with quality education from the primary to the higher education levels.

The State Government is committed to ensure that no part of Karnataka remained backward and would work for the overall development. The Mumbai-Karnataka region will be renamed as Kittur Karnataka, he said promising to strive for bringing about a qualitative change in the lives of the people of the region along with the change in the nomenclature.

Regional imbalances must be eradicated and entire State must develop and progress, he said promising to allocate Rs 3,000 crore special grant for the development of the Kalyana Karnataka region besides the rapid industrialization of the region. The Krishna and Cauvery catchment areas must be developed equally if the State were to prosper, he said.

Bommai said the statehood or Rajyothsava must become a regular feature and Kannada must get primacy in all spheres of life so that the future of the people becomes safe and secure.

The Chief Minister mentioned that the Rajyothsava celebrations had to be scaled down this year due to the Covid pandemic. But that does not mean that the desire and determination for the State’s development gets diminished. No force can bring down the strength and greatness of Kannada language, culture and the hard work of the people, he said.

The Chief Minister witnessed the exhibition organized by the Public Instruction Department.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh, Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary N Manjunath Prasad, Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner Manjunath and others were present.

Later, he inaugurated the Janaspandana, unified portal for redressal of public grievances under the Janasevaka lable, and also launched the 1902 helpline, Mobile App and Web Portal along with the 30 contact-less online services of the Transport Department at Vidhana Soudha.

Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh, MLAs Suresh Kumar Mahantesh Kavatagimath, Rizwan Arshad and others attended the function.

    all promises ,kannadigas have become less in dakshinakannnada district and people from other partsof karnataka and country are being kept in their job place: is the partysocial enginering ,even the bjp head is from our district . why is it occuring are thechief minister and bjpparty head not following their own promises and strongly enforcing it through the institutions.

    Kannadigas are busy in catching cow theives, creating issues over religions. Then who will work even if offered job. When some are getting free money why need to work hard.
