Archbishop Penha Inaugurates 8th National Catholic Charismatic Hindi Convention

Mumbai, Nov 5: Archbishop Bosco Penha inaugurated a three-day National Catholic Charismatic Hindi Convention at St Joseph’s Church, Holy Cross School ground, Mira Road, here on Friday November 5.
Archbishop Bosco Penha, while addressing the gathering said that the spiritual enlightenment would bolster the moral values. The meditation on divinity would reform an individual’s life. It would also take him closer to God, added the Archbishop.
Archbishop Bosco Penha celebrated the holy mass along with the parish priest of Mira Road Fr Dominic Vas and other clergies. Fr Dominic Vas said that the meditation has proven beneficial in maintaining the peace of mind and attaining God. It would lead the person in the path of knowledge and wisdom, culminating in a worthy life on earth, said Fr Dominic.
Fr Archibald Gonsalves, the provincial of the Karnataka - Goa Province of the Discalced Carmelites garlanded flowers on the statue of Mother Mary.
The programme began with the recitation of rosary by the devotees from Jambuva region of Rajasthan. The devotional singing and folkdance was staged by the devotees from Karnataka, Maharastra and Madhya Pradesh.
Fr Franco Mulakkal delivered the keynote address based on the Biblical scripture, ‘I am the light of the world’. Fr Donald Rodrigues preached a meaningful homily.
Fr Donald welcomed the gathering. Professor Constantine, chairman of NST delivered the introductory note with the introduction of the dignitaries. Fr Francis Xavier compered the programme.
The eighth convention will conclude on Sunday November 7.
