Moodbidri: No rooms - Aliyoor school holds classes under tin sheet

Daijiworld Media Network - Moodbidri (SP)

Moodbidri, Nov 20: The government aided higher primary school in Aliyoor near here has come as a boon for the children hailing from rural areas nearby. The student strength of this school has crossed 300 now, but because the school does not have enough class rooms, the students are made to attend classes bearing wind, rain and the sun, under the tin sheets in the courtyard of the school.

The zilla panchayat aided higher primary school at Aliyoor has a total of 325 students. As the number of students suddenly rose this time, two classrooms had to be accommodated outside the school building. Because of the shortage of rooms, temporary room has been built with the help of tin sheets in the school courtyard. The fourth and seventh standard students of the school attend the classes under the hot environment and sometimes facing rain and strong wind. While the sheet transfers the acute heat of the sun, the risk of the sheets flying in the air and injuring the students looms. But the students and teachers continue to attend classes in the middle of such adverse situations.

Even though school development and monitoring committee president Raveendra Matrushree, old students associate leaders, Laxman Kotian, Ganesh B Aliyoor, and dignitaries, Vishwanath and school coordination forum president Padmanabha Kotian, parents and villagers have drawn the attention of the education department to the problems, the school has not been provided with additional rooms.

The education department says that the zilla panchayat had called for tender to construct a building but the person to whom the tender was allotted failed to furnish affidavit. As the existing tender got cancelled, new tender has to be invited, they say. Moodbidri block education officer Devaraj, says that in view of the cancellation of the above tender, efforts are being made to construct a room at the earliest. Till then, he said, the school has been advised to use temporary shelter by rotation.

They know only to blame past govt.or others.Everyone waits for money or let others do.Self dont want to take trouble ,because it is not their own.Calling tender ,bringing cement, when cement is there ,no water ,when water is supplied corona etc.Our govt is so.For developement ,no time. Now some must get together put pressure on officials and do something. Is it a private or Govt.school.In this private schools belonging to churches or other community function better .How much it might cost one or two rooms to constructions?

Simple way to grab the attention of Government, just tie 4 cows out side those sheds in hot sun, all BD , VHP, VAHINI, SENE will hit the road and demand for the ac shelter for cows. Children can go and study under the trees ,not a big deal atall. We are in Modi new India.
