Madikeri, Nov 20: Police has registered an FIR against three persons including a journalist in connection with the morphing of a video of a protest held by a group of Muslim women in Shanivarsanthe here.
The protesters were saying 'Ambedkar Zindabad' in the protest. The video, which was morphed, projected as the protesters are raising slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad'.
The accused are Raghu S N, Harish and Girish. Harish is a local reporter for a Kannada daily and also the president of journalist association in Somwarpet.
Shanivarsanthe gram panchayat member Raghu, former member and journalist Harish and Girish of Kushalnagar have reportedly attempted to disrupt communal harmony by morphing the video and sharing it on social media.
According to the FIR, the trio had given a call for bandh in Shanivarsanthe on November 15.
Reportedly, it has come to light that the group of Muslim women did not raise slogan in favour of Pakistan.
Police have booked the accused under 34, 153 of IPC. The case registered at Shanivarsanthe police station.
