Intensify vax drive to improve 2nd dose coverage: Bommai

Bengaluru, Nov 26 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday directed the deputy commissioners to intensify the Covid vaccination drive to improve the state's second dose coverage.

At a virtual meeting with the deputy commissioners to review the progress of the vaccination drive in the state, Bommai said, "The state has achieved 90 per cent coverage of first dose and the extent of coverage of second dose stands at 57 per cent. The second dose coverage should touch 70 per cent by the end of December."

Bengaluru Urban district tops the list of vaccination, while Kalaburagi is at the bottom.

"The deputy commissioners should devote at least one hour daily for the vaccination programme besides constituting teams to visit the villages to convince the people to get vaccinated, Bommai said.

The Chief Minister also cautioned against any complacency in vaccination drive in the backdrop of drop in Covid cases in the state.

"The cases are again on the rise in many countries. We should not leave any scope for a possible third wave in Karnataka," he added.

Any drug or therapy which is not studied for long term efficacy and side effects as it has got only Emergency Use Permission shouldn't be enforced by these tactics unless one is getting something in return for enabling marketing like an agent misusing the authority conferred to serve the people and not to boss over them. As central government hasn't made it compulsory if any state govt or DC mandates it , then they can be sued and prosecuted for breaching the directive of central guidelines by enforcing illegal mandates which violates Disaster Management Act of 2005, if proved they are liable to undergo imprisonment for 1 year. No vaccines will work against mutating viruses like corona till today but vaccine certificate works is a foolish assumption not supported by medical science but by greedy pharma lobby and corrupt politicians.

Yes , just ask them to give in writing (black and white) asking to comply. Just approach the police with a complaint, if refused file a case in magistrate's court. In Maharashtra the agitation and efforts by Advocate Nilesh Ojha have forced the government to stop these tactics and declare any medical certificate issued by any doctor certifying allergies exempting the person from any vaccines will be considered by the authorities as he is "Fully Vaccinated " and shouldn't be discriminated to avail any services and facilities. Join "Telegram " and join Awaken India Movement " to get more updates. They have filed a case in Karnataka High Court too but hasn't come up for hearing. Let everyone join and get awakened and protest these unscientific orders which which are against human rights and our constitution.
