Bengaluru, Nov 29: A day after Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K S Eshwarappa, a former Deputy Chief Minister and prominent Kuruba community leader of BJP from Shivamogga district warmly appreciated the Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh R Nirani in the latter’s assembly constituency of Bilagi in Bagalkot district and predicted that he will definitely become a Chief Minister in future, it is now the turn of Nirani to applaud Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on his performance.

Speaking to reporters in Bagalkot on Monday, Nirani said he is ‘indebted to Eshwarappa’s affection’ and stated that his senior party colleague ‘might have made the statement out of affection and confidence’ in him and went on to praise Bommai saying ‘he is doing a good job’.

Obviously, from Eshwarappa to Nirani and Nirani’s praises of Bommai, it has turns out that the entire business in the ruling party seems to be a mutual admiration society.

On Eshwarappa’s complimentary remarks on him, Nirani said: “Eshwarappa while addressing a BJP meeting organised by the party’s backward communities’ wing in Bilagi said that I would become the next Chief Minister. He might have made that statement out of affection and as a stamp of approval for my public service and pro-people programmes over the years.’’

“Eshwarappa is a senior leader who built the party in Karnataka along with Yediyurappa and late Ananth Kumar in the last 5 decades. I am indebted to his affection,” Nirani clarified.

Clarifying on the leadership issue, Nirani said BJP will face the 2023 assembly polls under Bommai’s leadership.

“Basavaraj Bommai is doing a good job. He is addressing the problems including COVID-19 and flood situations by taking everyone into confidence. We will face the next assembly polls under his leadership. Our aim is to win at least 120 assembly seats and grab power on our own strength and also win more than 25 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha polls,” Nirani declared.

The minister said Chief Minister Bommai has been taking everybody into confidence and promptly responding to the problems of the people.
