Vijayapura: Shivakumar predicts Bommai's resignation - Nirani, Karjol dismiss statement

Daijiworld Media Network - Vijayapura (SP)

Vijayapura, Nov 30: "There is no doubt that the BJP government in the state will soon witness change of the chief minister (CM). In the past, Yediyurappa was asked to quit, telling him that the people had lost faith in him. Now, ministers of the Bommai cabinet are expressing doubts about the chief minister. Therefore, Bommai has to resign as CM," said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, D K Shivakumar.

Speaking to media persons, he said some minsters in the BJP government are speaking about corruption and collapse of administrative machinery in the state even though the Congress is not passing any comment. He pointed out that minster K S Eshwarpapa, has gone a step ahead and predicted that Murugesh Nirani will be the next chief minister. "I am not saying about replacement of the chief minister. The minister who said that Nirani will be the next CM has to explain," he said.

Reacting to the above statement, ministers, Murugesh Nirani and Govind Karjol, said that Bommai is not being replaced. Nirani said that Eshwarappa had predicted about him becoming the next CM out of his love and respect towards him and insisted that there will not be any change of chief minister for the time being. Karjol said that thinking of the CM at a time when the people are suffering cannot be thought of and that it is irrelevant.
