Omicron reaches India, two cases detected in Karnataka

New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS): The Omicron variant of coronavirus has reached India with two cases detected in Karnataka, officials said on Thursday.

Two cases of Omircron have been detected in Karnataka so far through genome sequencing, Indian Council of Medical Research chief, Dr Balram Bhargava said.

Both persons had travelled from South Africa. Their contacts have been identified and are under monitoring, he added.

Bhargava stressed said that people don't need to be panic, but awareness is absolutely essential.

Joint Secretary, Health, Lav Agarwal said: "All Omicron related cases are found to have mild symptoms so far. No severe symptoms have been noticed in Omicron infection in all such cases in the country and abroad. WHO has said that its emerging evidence is being studied."

    Indian, Dubai, Karnataka is a hub of Business, Industries, IT, BT, Employment, Healthcare and Education. So we don't have any need to visit Kerala. But still you can shut your borders because it will save our job of shutting our border. We don't know how many untested cases are there in Kerala.

    In fact these so called government officials and also our so called ICMR experts wants to spread such things only for their own benefit, If people were travelling with two doses of vaccines and also with RTPCR tests, then how this can happen..?????     I request government not to implement this useless lockdowns and restrictions We have seen in last 2 waves........Even after 2 strict lockdowns in wave 1 and wave 2, Cases are still there in Karnataka and also variants are still coming.....Say lockdown is very easy, nobody don't know the impact of lockdowns and implementing the lockdown is very difficult.......All over the world they are not interested to put lockdown......Hence taking precautions are very important and also booster vaccine....

    People, Yesterday First Omnicron case was detected in US, and stock market came down big time....perhaps tight lockdown will be reinforced soon... India should be very careful...isolate / Quarantine this person and try to Quarantine all persons he was in Contact in India for 10 days ..... if not a very heavy price will be paid in next few months....     Wrong statement by Langoo. More people died after the jabs in US under Biden than under Trump. More vaccine injuries and deaths happened due to jabs in one year if compared to all the other vaccines in 20 years. Just by hiding actual injuries and deaths by CDC and fake media as only 1% got reported to VAERS doesn't prove they worked.
