Congress known for betraying people, says Basavaraj Bommai

Gadag, Dec 7 (IANS): The Congress is only known for betraying people, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Monday

Ridiculing the party as an outfit making tall promises but poor in delivery, Bommai, addressing a BJP poll campaign meeting in Gadag, said that "the previous Congress government had announced 7 kg rice per head and within a few days, reduced it to 4 kg."

"In fact, only 4kg was distributed for 3 years of their 5 year tenure. Again with just one year for the election, it was raised to 7 kg. The story is the same about its promise to distribute houses for the poor. People will show them their place in this Legislative Council election," he said.

Elections to 25 seats of the state Legislative Council are scheduled on December 10, and are big opportunity for the BJP to get a majority in the 75-member house.

Referring to former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's allegation that the BJP government had not distributed even a single house, Bommai said that the senior Congress leader is misleading the people.

"Congress leaders built castles in the air by promising to build 15 lakh homes three months before the previous election without making any financial allocation. But the BJP government has not only provided the funds, but even started work on the construction. I have approved construction of 5 lakh houses. I have instructed the officials to ensure that they are completed well before the end of my term," he said.

The Chief Minister also listed many welfare programmes launched by his government.

Initially I thought he is a better candidate for CM, all expectations punctured. Yeddy was lot better with spine. After Church attacks he supported Christians. Now they are only talking about congress to hide failures. They have forgotten any development, just talking about cow and hinduthwa is in danger!! They are unable to control rampant corruption...may be promoting it!

This Bommie is a toy of Amith Modi and RSS. He is a toy with keys and when the key is turned he will act depending upon that. The day will come soon all Hindus will get killed by these RSS and BJP. When all Hindus do not have money or poverty attack them these BJP and RSS leaders will sell all Hindus to other countries. Just watch and see. This will happen if BJP comes into power next time.

Dear CM, it doesnt matter. No matter what development programs you have, as long as you target the minorities, you will not be successful. But our Bible has taught us forgive and love one another. Infact during the mass, there is a special prayer which we all read out, in which the entire congregation prays for you the PM and all those who rule above us. We pray for our nation and our fellow citizens. We dont differentiate between other relegions. But you cant even control the rogues who attack us in the name of conversion. Very unfortunate that as the leader of our state you cant even look at facts of the christian population, which is on a downward swing. But yeah it is also written in the Bible that in the last days, there will be persecution of Christians.

OK Congress is known for betraying people. What about the bringing back of black money, and all the false promises made by the chaiwaala? Took the entire country for a ride. The economy is in a very bad shape, since 2014 prices of essential items are only going up. Chaiwaala mentioned about the acche din. Now Mr. C. M. please tell us who has betrayed the country.
