Mangaluru: Youth from Vamanjoor goes missing, motorbike found abandoned

Mangaluru, Dec 10: Yogeesh (31) from Vamanjoor here went missing on Wednesday December 8 evening all of a sudden. The motorbike he used to ride was found orphaned on Gurpur bridge on Thursday December 9. The firemen and Bajpe police supported by locals continued with a search operation in Gurpur river all through Thursday without success.

Yogeesh, residing near Sr Ram Bhajana Mandir in Vamajoor was unmarried. He was a driver by profession. He was not seen after Wednesday evening, and a missing complaint was lodged in the rural police station here. Even as the policemen launched a search, they got information at night that a motorbike was found parked on Gurpur bridge. On Thursday morning, it was confirmed that it belonged to Yogeesh who had disappeared. Based on the recovery of the two-wheeler, the police personnel sought the support of the fire brigade to undertake a search in Gurpur river but their efforts proved futile till Thursday night.
