Mangaluru: Woman injured in wall collapse at Bondel succumbs

Mangaluru, Dec 12: A migrant labourer who was critically injured after a retaining wall collapsed at Krishnanagar in Bondel on Saturday December 11 passed away.

The woman, identified as Thimmakka (42) of Andhra Pradesh origin died in hospital after failing to respond to treatment.

Thimmakka was working at the lower level of the wall digging work that is being carried out to install pipelines under the Jalasiri project of the city corporation.

Following the wall collapse, Thimmakka and a child were rescued from the debris and rushed to hospital. The child is out of danger.

Kavoor police have registered a case against the contractor of the project.

    She, Or her close kin compensated with at least 5 Crore INR, if not 1 million USD because she was working for govt Project and sure they must have good insurance coverage and safety measures.

    Dr Alexander D Souza,USA,you are right ,but think she is not in USA but India,.Whether her family gets some money atleast 5lacs Rupees ,would be happy.Only rich people get money normal poor people I dont think.If any comes ,their dealers are there to draw off some.May her soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.Was it her child rescued ?How is she?Hope she /He is well off.

    The contractor heavily to be fined and to be cancel his license ! rogues of the society. Anybody can become contractor and take anybody life on the street. This is not done !

    Extremely sad news. Rest in peace Thimmakka. It's very sad to see in our so called smart city women are working for road project keeping their little children near and no law to protect them. City corporation should take care of the child now. Please don't take human body and soul for granted! Every soul is a drop of God.
