Mumbai, Nov 26: ‘Bhagawan Nithyanand was a saviour of poor and downtrodden’, said Swami Yoganand of Nithyanand Mutt, Kondevoor.
He was speaking after inaugurating a programme held at Billava Bhavan, Santacruz, here on Sunday November 21. He said that Sri Kshetra Nithyanand in Kondevoor, Uppala, Keala has many plans to implement social welfare projects to observe the death anniversary of Bhagawan Nithyanand.
The mutt has plans to build houses for the poor in an acre plot of land. It also holds regular blood donation camps in Kondevoor Kshetra. There is a plan to build a hospital with a devotee entrepreneur willing to contribute, added Swami Yoganand.
Addressing the gathering, Swami Yoganand said that the 50th death anniversary of Bhagwan Nithyanand will be observed in May 2011 and solicited the support of his devotees for the noble tasks in future.
Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti founder president Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty was the chief guest.
Kondevoor Mumbai committee honorary president Rohidas Bangera, vice -president K P Arvind, Vishwanath U Mada, Harish K Chevar, Urva Narayan, Krishna Amin, Umesh Manjeshwar and Billavar Association secretary Jyothi K Suvarna were present.
Billavar Association president Jaya C Suvarna and honorary secretary Jyothi K Suvarna conveyed best wishes for Swamiji’s societal concern.
Raghavendra C Amin led the prayers. Mumbai committee president Dharmapal U Devadiga welcomed the gathering. Honorary secretary Nithyanand D Kotian compered the programme. Harish K Chevar proposed the vote of thanks.
