Dubai, Nov 27: The cool pleasant weather was an invitation to all Belman Parishoners in Dubai to come together to have some fun under the open skies at Al Safa Park, Zabeel here.

The committee members began the day by making arrangements to welcome the Belman parishoners and their friends. Nourishing breakfast of vada and Mangalore buns and piping hot tea was provided to all the early arrivals. The children trickled in after catechism classes at 11.30 am and games began.

President Walter Monteiro thanked all the committee members and families and friends for their support by attending the picnic, inspite of a busy schedule and coming together as one Belman Family. A moment of silence was observed to remember member Ashok D'Souza who passed away this year.

Thereafter Anil Prakash, an upcoming MC and Anil Cardoza, vice-president took up the task of conducting warm up games and the various fun-filled activities for the day

The crowd were divided into two goups "RED LABEL"  and "BLUE LABEL". Thereafter there was a tough competition among the two groups from start to finish. There were various activities like passing the water cups, feeding grapes to your partner with toothpicks, peeling and feeding oranges.

The two teams also made two baloon pyramids, but the wind blew them away.

After a group of active game session, lunch was served to all. There was tradtional kuvalo curry, served with rice. The food was delicious and brought back memories of home.

After lunch, there was a game of volley ball, and the final tough challenge was the exhilarating tug-of-war. The two teams gave an equal fight, but the Red Label was victorious in the end. Both the teams were handed over their prizes, which they shared among all the picnickers.

There is no event complete without the traditonal bingo, after which cash prizes were handed over to the winners.

Walter Monteiro gave the closing speech . Overall it was an enjoyable day out with families and friends, and we look forward to see them all next year as well.

    devdas dsouza:
Looks like you some problem in life. Your name itself shows that you are a hypocrite, besides you don’t even know the difference between small letters and capital letters. Take up some English lessons instead. Nowhere it is mentioned in the Daijiworld constitution that the picnic pictures are not to be published and who are you tell them what to do and what not to. Your hailing the exceptionally brilliant service is not warranted.

Daijiworld, request you to stop publishing picnic related news and pictures on your reputed website. It looks silly when some groups go for picnic with family members or group members for pleasure or outing. Such things look good only on facebook or other social networking sites. World wide reputed webportal like daijiworld should strictly avoid such publication, as this portal as readers from all community all around the world. I would always hail daijiworld for exceptionally brilliant service for mangaloreans..thank you

Glad to read this news item on world famous daijiworld.Com about the Belmanites coming together for this picnic with several items that exhilarated the minds, hearts and spirits of all those who gathered.

It is also delighting to note that they are all together wherever they are as Belmanites.

Even though I was not there, I felt one with all of them in spirit and heart by seeing all those mignificent pictures. Thank you for giving those pictures on this medium.

God bless you all and help you to increase and intensify your efforts to uplift the Parish Community to high ideals of life by undertaking some efficacious, productive, generative and creative projects.

I wish you all of you and each one of you a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2011.
