Mumbai, Nov 29: The annual sports meet of Bombay Bunts Association was held at the Andheri sports complex here on Sunday November 28.

Olympian and Arjun Award recipient Edward Sequeira inaugurated the event on Sunday morning.

Speaking on the occasion, Sequeira said that sports does not have constraints of age. “It improves the health of an individual and can help make a great career”, said the Olympian.

Raghu L Shetty, national sportsman and president, Juhu Andheri Ville Parle Association of Bunts (JAVAB), was the chief guest on the occasion.

He said that the annual sports meet is an occasion to express the unity of the Bunts community.   Mira – Dahanu Bunts Sangh honorary president Virar Shanker B Shetty, Super Catering Private Limited managing director Bolnaduguttu Chandrahas M Rai, Hotel Satkar Residency managing director Shivaram K Shetty, and AHAR zone nine vice-president Karnakar S Shetty were the guests of honour. 

Bombay Bunts Association trustees and former presidents N C Shetty, Jayaram S Malli, Babu N Shetty, Anand V Shetty, Madyaguttu Jaya N Shetty and lawyer Ashok S Shetty, joint secretary Innabeedu Ravindra B Shetty, office-bearers and committee members Keshav Alva, Sadanand Shetty, Kolpe Dhananjay Shetty, T Ramesh Shetty, Chandrashekar S Shetty, Pramod Shetty, Mamata M Shetty, executive president lawyer D K Shetty, cultural and social welfare committee president Gopal Y Shetty, youth wing convener Sunil Shetty, and education committee president Murali K Shetty were present on the occasion.

Association vice-president Shyam N Shetty, honorary treasurer Santosh Kumar R Shetty, women’s wing president Susheela Shetty, as well as joint treasurer and sports committee secretary Jaya C Shetty were present on the dais.

Nandalike Narayan Shetty, Petemane Prakash Shetty, and journalist Daya Sagar Chowta compered the programme.  Association honorary secretary lawyer Uppoor Shekar Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
