Udupi, Dec 22: Trinity Central School, Perampalli emerged winner at Girija Healthcare & Surgicals presents ‘Natal Sobhan 2021’, while Immaculate Conception Church, Gangolli and Stella Maris Church, Kalmady secured the second and third places respectively.
The first edition of Natal Sobhan was organized by Daijiworld Udupi, Kishoo Enterprises, Uzward Konkani Fortnightly in association with St Mary’s School, Kannarpady.
The tableau performances enthralled the audience. Every act was performed with most dignity and decorum by all the teams. Christmas’ message of peace and love was highlighted by the teams.
Fr Sunil D’Silva, parish priest, St Antony Church, Sasthan, Stany Bela, production in-charge, Daijiworld 24*7 and Wilson Kateel, renowned poet were the judges for the competition. Sharing their experience of judging the competition, Fr Sunil D’Silva said, "It is a great experience to witness such a programme. A lot of effort has been put to make this competition become a reality. I congratulate Daijiworld for creating a stage for such amazing talents. I congratulate the teams for their participation. Every teams has put in hard work for the performances. Two teams performed very differently.”
Ravi K Shetty, proprietor, Girija Healthcare & Surgicals, addressing the gathering said, "Christmas is celebrated by the largest population of the world. People from different religions celebrate this feast. Daijiworld and Girija Healthcare & Surgicals have been associated for a very long time. Daijiworld has been a leading media platform in Coastal Karnataka. The media outlet does not create any controversies to earn TRPs. This is a very good competition.”
Chief guest H M Pernal, editor, KIttaal.com addressing the gathering said, "Natal refers to the place of birth. During the birth of Jesus, there were problems of citizenship. In olden days, the message of Christmas was shared by visiting every household. Today, the message is same, but the mode of delivering the message has changed. If the performances are for recreation, it will not serve the need. We should take the message from the original situation and connect it with the contemporary world. I congratulate Daijiworld Udupi, Kishoo Enterprises and wish them good luck for organizing this wonderful event.”
Rita Quadros, vice principal, St Mary's English Medium School said, “The Christmas wave has started to flow from today at St Mary's School auditorium. I congratulate Daijiworld Udupi team for organizing this event. Children have also participated in the competition. From today onwards, we will start to receive the Christmas message. Let us celebrate this Christmas with a poor family. Let us celebrate our Christmas with them.”
Fr Royson Fernandes, editor, Uzward Konkani Fortnightly addressing the gathering said, "Two months ago, we had started planning for this programme. The good vibes will be shared to the world from here. I congratulate the staff of Kishoo Enterprises for taking efforts in making this happen. Let this continue every year. Religion and feast are the least concentrated subjects today. Let us spread good hope among the society.”
Speaking about their experience of participating in the competition, Fr Anil D’Costa, principal, Trinity Central School said, "It is easy to organise such programmes inside a studio, but when it comes to outdoor setup, there will be separate issues. This is a journey. Tableau needs much efforts. We used to practice after the school hours. Every individuals’ efforts are important.”
Kishoo Barkur, proprietor, Kishoo Enterprises distributed the mementos to the dignitaries. Kevin Rodrigues, operations manager, Daijiworld Udupi proposed the vote of thanks. Jovita D'Lima compered the programme.
