Udupi: Syndicate Bank Former Top Official B B Shetty, No More

Udupi, Dec 1: Bellare Balakrishna Shetty (84), popularly known with the name, B B Shetty, breathed his last in Manipal on Tuesday November 30. He was a retired assistant general manager of Syndicate Bank. He is survived by wife, Sumalini B Shetty, sons, Dr Devadas Balakrishna, a doctor settled in England, and Dr Ramadas Balakrishna, dentist located in Bangalore.

Shetty had got special expertise in glass technology through Tokyo University, and during his stay there, he was chosen as the secretary of the International Students Union. After working for about a decade as the director of industries in Tamil Nadu government, he joined Syndicate Bank. He retired after serving at Syndicate Bank’s head office in Manipal for two decades, before retiring as its assistant general manager.

He was a close associate of Pai family of Manipal, and had functioned as an associate director of Manipal Institute of Technology.

    We are shocked at the sudden death of Mr.B.B.Shetty. We were close,as,he used to visit his mother frequently, to my next door where his mother of 98 years was with his brother.May His Almighty give strength to his wife and sons to bear the loss
