Bengaluru, Dec 27: Candidates who appeared for the National Teachers’ Eligibility Test for Kannada language, boycotted the examinations as the University Grant Commission (UGC) made blunder of printing the Kannada question papers in Hindi language.

The candidates expressed their rage and said, “As UGC is under the limits of union government, plot is being hatched to impose Hindi even in the Kannada language question paper. We are shocked to see Kannada language question paper printed in Hindi. What is the reason behind this?”

National Testing Authority, which is subsidiary of UGC had organized ‘UGC-NET Kannada subject examination’ from 9 am to 12 noon on Sunday, December 26. First question paper had 50 questions while the second one had 100 questions. Only 10 questions in the second question paper were printed in Kannada and rest 90 were printed in Hindi. The candidates were totally confused.

The exam had to be completed by 12 noon. However, due to technical issue the questions were printed in Hindi according to the organizers. They appealed the candidates to sit in the examination halls till 2 pm assuring to set things right. However, when the questions did not arrive in Kannada till 2 pm, the candidates vented their anger and left the examination centres.

Around 5 pm on Sunday, senior director of UGC Dr Sadhana Parashar gave clarification that the blunder occurred due to some technical issues and the examination is postponed. New time table for examination will be published soon. Candidates are requested to visit UGC website regularly.

It has been an RSS ploy since the 1950s to create one-nation, one-language. I am not surprised with this printing case. There is a method behind many of these "blunders".
