Mangaluru: 15 couples enter into wedlock in mass marriage at Zara Convention Centre

Mangaluru, Dec 27: Zara Charitable Foundation Mangaluru conducted multi-religious mass marriage for harmony at Zara Convention Centre on Monday December 27.

The mass marriage ceremony was inaugurated by Avadhoota Sri Vinaya Guruji from Bengaluru, while Khazi Udupi district Zainul Ulema M Abdul Hameed Musliyar offered dua.

As many as 15 couples tied the knot during the mass marriage which included 10 Muslim couples and 5 Hindu couples.

Avadhoota Sri Vinaya Guruji from Bengaluru said, “I have not attended this mass marriage as a Guruji, but came here as an organization is initiating a harmonious mass marriage ceremony. We should keep religion, caste and creed aside and be good human beings. When water, air and food does not differentiate on the bases of caste, religion and creed, then why we have to do the same?”

Parish priest of Our lady of Pompei Church Gurupura Fr Anthony Lobo, founder of chairman AJ Group of Institutions Dr A J Shetty, chairman of Hameed Sha Complex G A Bawa, president of Beary Chamber of Commerce S M Rasheed, former president district Youth Congress Mithun Rai, Balakrishna B Shetty from Alikegutthu, managing director of White Stone Developers B M Shareef, Khateeb New Jumma Masjid Jokatte Moulana Abdul Rahiman Dharimi, Khateeb Old Jumma Masjid Moulana Yacob Madani, Khateeb Idgah Masjid Jokatte Moulana Ibarahim Dharami Savanoor, president of new Jumma Masjid Jokatte G M Shamshuddin and others were present.

Chairman of Zara Charitable Foundation Mangaluru, B Zakria Jokatte welcomed the gathering. Trustees Zaheer Zakria, Nazeer Zakria and Zahid Zakria were present.
