Mumbai: Tulu Theatrer-buffs Felicitates Kapikad During Silver Jubilee Celebrations

Mumbai, Dec 2: Cha... Parka, Tulu drama troupe promoted by Telikede Bolli fame Devdas Kapikad celebrated its silver jubilee celebrations at Dr M Visvesvaraya auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, Matunga , here on Tuesday November 30 to Wednesday December 1.
Chandrashekar Palettady, editor of metro- published Kannada daily and internationally acclaimed astrologer Ashok Purohit felicitated Karnatka Rajyotsav Award recipient Devdas Kapikad and Sharmila couple.
Acknowledging the honour, Devdas Kapikad said that he would like to be born as a dramatist and not as a prime minister in his next life retaining his usual tacky humour. The theatre enthusiasts of metro indeed support many troupes in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district, added Kapikad.
Devdas stressed that the troupe’s popular dramatist Navin D Padil has bright future for his inherent talent. He also laid emphasis on the blessings of Dr D Veerendra Hegde, Dharamadhikari of Dharmasthala and also Odiyoor Swamiji.
Chandrashekar Palettady said that the conferring of Karnataka Rajyotsav Award to Devdas Kapikad is indeed an honour to his many decades of contributions to Tulu theatre.
Karnataka Sangh – Andheri chief secretary Krishna Shetty Kadavady and others felicitated Tulu drama troupe on the occasion.
A musical concert and dance show were held by Junior Rajkumar famed Jagdish Shivapura and other artistes.
Gopala E Parbala, Tulu comedy play was staged as part of various programmes.
The entrepreneur Gopal Shetty was the chief guest. Chandrashekar Palettady and president of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh–Maharastra presided.
Navi Mumbai based Ramesh Associates promoter, Ramesh S Shetty Kaup, Sathosh Caterers proprietor Raghu P Shetty, hoteliers Yashwant Shetty Bannanje, Nilesh Palimar, Kilpady Ravi B Shetty and Venugopal Shetty were present.
