Dec 28: Dakshina Kannada reports 10 corona cases; Udupi records 20 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 28: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, December 28, reported 10 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 20 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,16,308 out of which 123 are currently active.

As many as 32 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,700.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,10,42,470 as fine in 91,482 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 13,58,222 samples have been tested so far.

A total of 20 new cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 77,052 out of which 67 are currently active.

A total of 3 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. Coronavirus has claimed 479 lives in the district so far.

So far 9,56,884 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 8,15,516 have received the second dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
