Shivamogga, Jan 2: “If KPCC president D K Shivakumar gets converted to Islam or Christianity after applying for the same to DC, there will not be any issue of autonomous status to temples,” said rural development minister K S Eshwarappa.
Speaking to the reporters in the city, Eshwarappa said, “Why Shivakumar is jealous if temples are given autonomous status? He is saying that the temples are being given to BJP workers. Let him apply and get converted to Islam or Christianity instead of saying this nonsense.
“Churches and mosques are autonomous in this country. Why is there an objection to giving independence to temples? When the issues of banning cow slaughter and religious conversion came for discussion, even this matter was proposed. Shivakumar is doing only those jobs which will make Muslims and Christians happy,” he said.
