Mangalore: Two Associates of Madoor Yousuf Nabbed


Mangalore, Dec 11 (TNN): The district police have nabbed two associates of notorious communal goonda and underworld element Madoor Yousuf alias Madoor Isubu.

They are Mohammed Iqbal of Jokatte and Altaf Sharief Hussain of Talapady, Bantwal. While Iqbal was wanted in the Bantwal jewelry robbery shoot out case and some cases where he issued threats on behalf of Isubu, the latter is wanted for funding Sukhananda Shetty's murder.

He not only provided Rs 2.5 lakh to purchase the vehicle used to kill Shetty, but also was instrumental in collecting about Rs 7 lakh of the Rs 30 lakh supari money required for the murder. They have been produced at Bantwal and Surathkal courts police stations respectively.

    Oh !!!....Very interesting confessions from Madoor Yusuf's Accomplices are already reported.

    Yusuf, now in custody and facing interrogation, is said to have spilled the beans on many past crimes and connected persons. He is reported to have confessed that some persons from Mangalore also were on the Taliban hit-list, besides saying that he was introduced to underworld don Chhota Shakeel by an advocate from Mangalore.

    Another important confession he is said to have made is that he was involved in the mysterious death of BJP leader L K Advani's gunman in Moodbidri some time ago.
