Mumbai, Dec 13: The metro based Sri Krishna Vittala Pratistan will be organizing Maha Vishnu Yaga and Vedic rites as part of thirteenth annual day celebrations here on Sunday December 19.
Sri Krishna Vittala Pratishtana was founded by Kairabettu Vishwanath Bhat, renowned Vastu expert, Vidhwan and astrologer. Sri Krishna Vittala Pratistan was inaugurated by Swami Vishveshateerta of Pejavar Mutt in the metro during 1997.
The pratishtana has been serving the society educationally, socially, culturally and religiously. Besides, the pratishtana has been providing notebooks, writing materials to the poor students of Kannada municipal schools in the metro since the past 12 years. It has been honouring the toppers of Class VII and SSC thereby encouraging the talented poor students to excel in studies.
The pratishtana has come to the rescue of flood-hit victims of Kurar village in the suburban Malad (East) when the western suburb was flooded during 2006 by providing food grains and money. It has been helping the poor patients suffering from heart diseases, kidney failure, cancer etc.
The pratishtana has been engaged in promoting Yakshagana, drama, Harikate, religious discourse, devotional singing, health and yoga camps across the metro.
Meanwhile, the Vishnu Maha Yaga will be held at Divya Sagar Lawn located nearby Mahanand Dairy, Goregaon (East), here on Sunday December 19, in order to save the world from untimely rains, sparse rains, earthquakes, drought and famine. Special prayers will be offered for global peace and brotherhood. The social activists Srinivas Bhat, Sudhakar Shetty, Vishwanath C Shetty and others from Udupi, Bangalore and metro are doing their yeomen service in this regard.
Inaugural of Women Wing
The Women wing comprising Sunanda Upadhya, Rashmi Sawant, Jyothi Shetty, Sudha Puthran, Poornima H Shetty, Poornima V Shetty, Shyamala Shastry, Susheela Devadiga, Veena Rao, Vijaya Rao, Pushpa Acharya, Sadhana Ahuja, Nirmala Shivattaya, Satyabhama Nidwannaya and Yashodha R Poojary will be inaugurated on the occasion.
Speciality of Yaga
Vishnu Maha Yaga and other Vedic rites will be held from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm on Sunday December 19.
The Vedic celebrants from Kateel, Subramanya, Udupi and other regions will take part in the Maha Yaga. The Tulunadu cultural extravaganza too will be held.
