Bengaluru, Jan 20: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday, January 20 launched a website providing information about Central and State Government programmes and services to the people.

Speaking after virtually launching the website, the chief minister said the website should work as a communication bridge between the people and government.

Bommai also virtually released a book on skills development, self-employment and employment registration in Mysuru.

The website provides details about Central and State Government programmes and services and feels it would enable the people to get detailed information on government programmes, their purpose and utility.

Providing public welfare programmes to every strata of the society under one roof is the long term vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The new book contains guidelines to avail the benefit of the programmes. The book would function like an encyclopedia in taking the state government's welfare programmes to the people. It would be a good guide for administrators and people, Bommai said.

The Chief Minister lauded the effort of MLA S A Ramdas, who has brought out the book with a noble purpose of creating an awareness among the people on various government schemes.

Bommai also distributed the scholarship programme for the children of Construction and Building Labourers organized by their Welfare Board.

Labour Minister Shivaram Hebbar, MLA Ramdas and Labour Department Additional Chief Secretary Dr G Kalpana and other officials attended the virtual meeting.

None of the states online services work ..Only thing that has worked for me is Central website for Driving license. Even the Mangalore City corporations online water bill payment portal does not work . IT was inaugurated by the Mayor with so much fanfare and whistles . What is the use of just inaugurating and announcing these websites for websites .. of govt ..Its simply eye wash . Only Mescom Bill payment is working fine.
