The aggrieved had uploaded his personal details on sign.com website in the city as a part of his job hunt. Ankur Desai, who went through his details, had called the complainant and advised him to register himself on securecareer.com website instead. The complainant agreed and registered on this site by paying Rs 2,358. He received a list of companies where apparently, job vacancies matching his qualifications existed. Later, he was asked to pay a processing fee to verify the documents and he transferred Rs 4,130 through his ICICI Bank account.

Similarly, a total sum of Rs 10,65,065 was paid by the victim through UPI transfers. Later, the so-called company made him believe that additional money collected would be refunded and persuaded the complainant to reportedly transfer a total sum of Rs 25,49,079.

After realizing that this was a handiwork of some fraudsters, the person complained to the police. Investigations are on.
