Kaup: Truck gutted in fire near Hejamady toll gate

Kaup, Jan 27: An Eicher lorry was gutted in fire here in Hejamady on Wednesday late night. It was on its way from MCF to Bhadravathi.

The incident occurred right near the Hejamady toll gate of Udupi District when the truck crew was cooking dinner close to the vehicle. The truck accidentally caught fire and was completely gutted.

Navid Pasha, the driver jumped off the truck and escaped without any injury.

Crews from nearby trucks with the help of locals and toll gate staff extinguished the fire.
