Mangaluru, Feb 1: With the lifting of the night curfew in the district, preparations are afoot to hold the remaining Kambalas. The Kambala Samithi has brought out the revised schedule for holding the remaining Kambalas.
This Kambala season had started on December 5, and the committee had announced dates for holding a total of 18 Kambalas. Among them, Hokkadigoly, Moodbidri, Miyyar, Kakkepadavu and Mulky Arasu Kambala were held. Thereafter, because of covid restraint measures, Kambalas were suspended. It has now been decided to organize the remaining Kambalas duly following the government guidelines.
As per the new time table, the first of the remaining Kambalas will start with Baradi Beedu Kambala on February 5 and end with Venoor Kambala on April 16. District Kambala Samithi president Yermal Rohit Hegde, said that the Samithi is waiting for the permission of the district administration to hold Kambalas. He said that a delegation will soon meet the deputy commissioner and convince him about the need to permit holding of the Kambalas.
