Bantwal: Man sets fire to his bike after tiff with finance company

Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (EP)

Bantwal, Feb 7: In an extreme reaction, a man doused his motorbike with petrol and set it ablaze right in front of a two wheeler showroom and later fled the spot. The shocking display of frustration occurred in Kaikamba of B C Road on Monday, February 7 evening, after he had an argument with a private finance company over payment of loan instalment, it is said.

The bike owner is Mohammed Harshad, a resident of Farangipete.

Harshad had borrowed money from a finance company to purchase his bike. The finance company had recovered the bike documents from the hands of the owner and asked him to pay the loan instalment. The owner drove the bike to the Kaikamba showroom and tried to convince the executives of the finance company in the showroom.

It soon boiled into an argument and Harshad just walked out of the showroom and committed the extreme act. The bike is completely charred in the fire.

The Bantwal fire brigade personnel arrived on time, doused the fire and ensured that it did not spread to other bikes parked in the showroom.

Bantwal town police inspector Vivekananda and staff conducted a spot inquest. They gathered complete details about the incident and also obtained the parts of the video captured by the CCTV camera in the building.

finance companies, most of them operate on loan shark model... people should resist temptation and avoid falling prey to these companies ...they obviously make it very attractive at the beginning saying so many confusing things that we dont grasp... no one gives you loan for nothing... avoid as much possible...

Why finance companies encourage to buy vehicles on loan, though they can't have a capability to pay back loan. These executive make their share of commission by compelling these kangal guy's to buy modern vehicles. So both are on faults.

Lets not selectively support or outrage , his biggest mistake was obtaining finance , he was so need of two wheeler he could have purchased a second hand with available funds instead of engaging in interest based transaction, now he will have criminal case along with loan default case
