Kundapur: Three members of a family including child killed in car accident

Kundapur, Feb 7: Three members of a family lost their lives and three more injured in a car accident near Srirangapur, Hosadurga taluk here on Monday , February 7 morning.

The deceased are Geeta (32), her mother Sharada (60) and daughter Drithi (5). The car reportedly hit a roadside tree after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Nagesh (65), Dayanand (66) and Sudheendra (35) are the ones injured in the mishap. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Shivamogga.

The six members of the family were on their way to Bengaluru from Kundapur. Police suspect that the driver became drowsy and lost control. A case has been registered at the Hosadurga police station.

    RIP..... We have seen lot of lethal accidents during wee hours.... But many think that late night & early morning drive is easy due to less traffic,,,,Only if driver gets sufficient sleep & rest before behind the wheel.

    Its better to avoid mid night or early morning driving on a long drive, fraction of seconds any thing may hapend anytime, here 3 people lost thier life for a small error by driver.

    Poor driving skills , over speeding are the main factors, followed by poor crash test ratings of our cars except TATA and Maruti which come with four or five star rating.

    Yes.Maruti cars always get less than 3 stars with Vitara Brezza as an exceptional case (4 star).Mahindra and Tata have made and will make safe cars (XUV300,XUV700,Punch,Nexon,Altroz,Tiago).Also other manufacturers like Skoda,Volkswagen etc also make safe cars.Having a safe car doesnt save our life if we are over speeding!
