The ruling party MLAs themselves are instigating students in their respective constituencies thru their foot soldiers namely BD, RS and the HJV. Simply announcing three days closure will not solve the problem.

The hijab may not be a religious item - it's more cultural. However, the school's rule book allowed for shawls of the same colour as the school uniform to be used to cover the female students' hair. Why has the principal not adhered to his own school's rule and created this controversy ? This will now spread all over India and will affect BJP badly in the upcoming state elections.

Dear CM, This is the time you have to stand with the oppressed and minorities, not to close schools and colleges. Wearing a dress of the choice is a fundamental right. Wearing a hijab is a fundamental right, however, the government can restrict fundamental rights.

Too much sentiment and importance to ones own religion leads for less care to other religion. Such importance to religion not supporting unity in diversity like our country. If we really need to live happy life with real meaning of secularism we should keep religion inside home only, not outside and make our own religion a laughing subject.

First CM should ask the MP & MLA's of South Kanara and Udipi to keep their mouth shut for 3 days. They were the persons who were responsible for the escalation of this issue which the school management and parents of students of all communities could have sorted. Good, the children got 3 days holiday to prepare for the coming Brother-Sister day!
