Fr D’Souza in his homily said that there are millions of hungry people around the world and in our society too there are thousands. People go hungry not because there have no resources but because the people are selfish, he said.

People, because of selfishness, hoard and hence there is inequality of distribution, he added. Fr D’Souza called on the people to be generous towards the hungry and also invited to pray for them. He specially asked the congregation to pray for the wealthy that they may be kind to the needy.
