Feb 14: Dakshina Kannada reports 55 Covid cases, Udupi adds 31; four deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 14: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, February 14, reported 55 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 31 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,051 out of which 730 are currently active.

As many as 135 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,828. Out of which two deaths were reported on Monday.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,33,380 as fine in 95,487 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 31 new cases were reported on Monday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 613. A total of 160 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday.

Udupi taluk reported 12 cases, Kundapura 9 and 9 cases in Karkala. 1 case was reported from out of the district.

A total of 10,39,595 people have received first dose of vaccination and 9,11,436 have received both doses and 40,253 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
