Mangaluru, Feb 15: Local Congress leaders together with members of the Suratkal unit of Youth Congress staged a protest on Monday February 14 in front of Kavoor police station condemning the demolition of Panjimogaru prayer centre run by St Antony Church of Kulur.

The protestors pointed out that though it has been more than a week since the prayer centre's demolition, no arrest had been made yet.

The protesters also demanded to lodge FIR against the culprits.

DCP (law and order) Hariram Shankar visited the spot and assured to take action in the matter at the earliest.

Congress leaders Lawrence D'Souza, former MLA Mohiudeen Bava, Stany Alvares and others were present.

It is alleged that on February 5, Shri Satya Korddabbu Seva Samithi, violating the stay order from the court, entered the compound of the prayer center and demolished the building, compound wall, and trees. A complaint was filed by St Anthony Holy Cross Building committee president Antony Prakash Lobo, Cyprian D'Souza, Francis Pinto, and Valerian Lobo against Shri Satya Korddabbu Seva Samithi in Kavoor police station in this regard.

Police must book the culprits who dishonored the STAY ORDER from court. There is no different law for bunch of people who can hand in glove with the authority. This is the book of law must enter the concerned authority.

Today is the feast of St Antony, a very powerful saint through whom we recieve lots of favours and miracles. Whoever has harmed this Saint will perish. I can say with certainty that these people will not live long. No protest nor FIR needed. St Antony will look over them. i have strong faith in this Saint.

Did you understand what you were reading Praveen? The report stated 'Shri Satya Korddabbu Seva Samithi, violating the stay order from the court, entered the compound of the prayer center and demolished the building, compound wall, and trees..' English is everyone's second language but still things were reported well enough for all to understand.

You should learn from the Arab Countries ... what is tolerance and love for humanity. I spent 42 years in the Gulf and trust me I felt more safer as we could pray in Gurudwaras, Churches, temples and Mosques. What is wrong with you guys. You sound so illiterate.

What Moideen Bhawa has done the good work to Surathkal can't be done by anyone. The market building cum bustand started by Bhawa still incomplete even after 5 year. Very soon the steel will be corroded because of the negligence of the present regime.
