Mumbai, Jan 1: Kadandale Vasu Shetty (70), veteran Tulu writer based in Thane near here, breathed his last at Lifecare Hospital in Thane on Friday December 31. He is survived by wife, two sons, and a daughter.
Shetty, a hotellier by profession, was very much interested in literature. He had penned a number of poems with a hue of folk songs. He also had participated in numerous poets’ sessions. A number of his poems written in Kannada and Tulu, were published in different publications.
His collection of poems titled ‘Muguru Purpa’ was published several years ago. Vasu Shetty also used to take part in Talamaddale and folk dance performances.
Kadandale, who was a soft-spoken gentleman, had earned awards like ‘Karmika Kaviratna’ and ‘the Late K K Suvarna Award’. He had also been felicitated by several organizations.
