Mumbai: Veteran Tulu Litterateur, Kadandale Vasu Shetty, No More

Mumbai, Jan 1: Kadandale Vasu Shetty (70), veteran Tulu writer based in Thane near here, breathed his last at Lifecare Hospital in Thane on Friday December 31. He is survived by wife, two sons, and a daughter.

Shetty, a hotellier by profession, was very much interested in literature. He had penned a number of poems with a hue of folk songs. He also had participated in numerous poets’ sessions. A number of his poems written in Kannada and Tulu, were published in different publications.

His collection of poems titled ‘Muguru Purpa’ was published several years ago. Vasu Shetty also used to take part in Talamaddale and folk dance performances.

Kadandale, who was a soft-spoken gentleman, had earned awards like ‘Karmika Kaviratna’ and ‘the Late K K Suvarna Award’. He had also been felicitated by several organizations.

    Mr Kadandale Vashu Shetty was a great devotee of Lord KRISHNA,a greatpoet,philospher,I have never come across a simple and very good gentlemen like him. I pray to god his soul rest in peace

    My Dodappa was a gr8 man indeed..In life no 1 can EVER come across such a person....he just lived for the sake of others no mattter whatever HE HAS.. He had the habbit of sharing wid others whether his family members or others..He use to treat ME as his son....He use to always teach me about how to be good to people and narate his poems and stories..I use to like listening to his stuff.. i use to make him dance whenever i use to be wid him ... i miss him so much..i always cry whenver i remember him... A diehearted bhakt of lord shri krishna..i can never forget my dodappa..i m very much happy dat even after he died many people remember him..n will do thruout our life..he always wanted every1 to b happy ...he just survived 4 others happiness...there wasnt a place for anger in his dictionary He left us very soon..but i pray to god dat his soul rest in peace ..keep remembering my APPA...THANK YOU ALL HIS FRIENDS FOR ALL SUPPORT.. MISS U DODAPPA..!AND WILL ALWAYS DO..
