Mumbai, Jan 2:
Konkani Bhasha Sahitya – Samskuti Sammelan, a day-long Konkani literary and cultural extravaganza will be held at Varada Siddi Vinayaka Seva Bhavan, Dombivali, here on Sunday January 2 between 9.00 am to 7.00 pm.  It was organized at the aegis of the metro based Rajapura Saraswat Sangh and Varada Siddi Vinayaka Seva Mandal under Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy.
 
Rajapura Saraswat Sangh president Prabhakar D Borkar will inaugurate the Sammelan here on Sunday morning.
 
Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Kundapur Narayan Karvi will preside over the programme.
 
R S Co-operative Bank chairman Kacheri Sadanand Nayak, Pune entrepreneur Suresh Nene, Rajapur Saraswat women wing president Smita Vaman Patkar, Academy registrar S H Shivarudrappa will be the chief guests of the occasion.
 
The variety Konkani cultural extravaganza by Rajapur Saraswat community will be held on Sunday morning.  A poet’s session will be held on Sunday afternoon chaired by veteran Konkani litterateur Gayatri Deepak Wagle, wherein poets Kusuma Kamat Belgaum, Sriram Marate Bantakal, Usha Nayak Karkala, Rama Nayak Kalwa – Mumbai, Vidhya Nayak Karkala, Ancy D’Souza Vasai, Ravishankar and others will recite their poetry.
 
Konkani folklore by Konkan Karvi Welfare Association – Mumbai, variety entertainment programmes by Rajapura Saraswat women wing of Karkala, Murlidar Ananta Prabhu and group from Belgaum will be staged at the occasion, stated the media release issued by Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy member and programme organizer B Pundalika Marate Shirva.
