Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Feb 21: Staff and personnel of Koosamma Shetty Memorial and Haji Abdullah Hospital for Mother and Child in the city on Monday February 21 launched a protest against the hospital over non-payment of salaries

The protestors said that they had not been paid salaries for the past three months.

Work in both inpatient and outpatient departments have been completely stalled. All the 153 personnel of the hospital are sitting as protest.

Dr Swarnalatha, medical superintendent of the hospital said, "Government has not released salaries for staff for the past three months. Earlier also we staged protest for the same reason.

"Patients are facing the inconvenience. Management is not responding to our demands. Only emergency ward is functioning. All other departments have stopped working," she said.

Ansar Ahmed, leader of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike said, "The issue of Hijab is being discussed throughout the state. The work of inciting enmity between different religions is being done. MLA of Udupi should give up such work and respond immediately to the needs of staff of this hospital. Otherwise Karnataka Rakshana Vedike will stage fierce protest."

Please send Sharan Pumpwell to Udupi . He will protest and give compensation to these people. The local MLA cannot do anything in this case as it is directly under PM Cares.

No salaries now. Just wait. The government is busy with the Hijab issue, division of the society on communal lines and trying to save Eshwarappa. No time for payment of overdue salaries.

This is a grave matter. MLA Mr. Bhat must act immediately or resign from position. It is pathetic that hard working medical staff of an important public service entity are not paid since 3 months. This is injustice against humanity.

Who cares about hospitals. We have communal issues that are much more important. If the hospital staff wants attention, then say that there is hijab issue. Bajrang dal will arrive there in no time

This shows how hollow BJP is. This is not the first instance. We had state bus drivers, teachers and anganwadi workers in the past had not received there salaries. BJP makes money disappear and then brings on things like hijab saga to distract public from the real problems. How do they expect theses hospital workers to look after their families . Andhe Bhakths wake up.

Bjp's commnual agenda won't hide its collectives failures. The local MLA did nothing recent days except busy in fueling hijab controversies.
