Mangaluru, Feb 26: District in-charge minister V Sunil Kumar, “As many as 85,384 files were pending from 45 departments in the district. Out of them, 68,952 files were disposed of till February 25.”

Addressing the media on Saturday February 26, he said, “We have launched a document disposal drive from February 19 to 28. The response has been good for the drive where we wanted to dispose of the files quickly. Due to a lot of pending files, several families are affected.

“As many as 1,500 staff from district and taluk are involved in the document drive. During the drive, under the social security scheme, as many as 1,704 beneficiaries were benefited with schemes like widow pension, 94c, 94cc, manaswini and many more.

“After February 28, a week-long 'Kandaya Mela' will be observed in all the taluks.

“A job fair will be held at AJ Engineering College on March 3. As many as 100 companies will take part in it. Students can apply only for 3 companies. They should bring along their Aadhar card and marks cards.

We have set a target of 60% placement,” he said.

The minister also informed that a proposal will be sent to the government to rename Lady Goschen hospital after Rani Abbakka.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “Minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation stone for several projects pertaining to national highways on February 28. Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, union minister Prahlad Joshi, PWD minister C C Patil and district in-charge minister Sunil Kumar will take part in the programme.

“The projects will involve 35 km on NH 73 Mangaluru-Tumakuru worth Rs 696.26 crore, 8 bridges worth Rs 745 crore on NH 275, KPT junction NH 66 construction worth Rs 34.61 crore., NH 75 Bengaluru-Mangaluru, Gundya Addahole to Periyashanthi four-lane covering 15 km worth Rs 442.87 crore, NH 75 Bengaluru-Mangaluru Gundya Addahole-Periyashanthi-Bantwal four-lane and a overbridge at Kalladka covering 48 km worth Rs 1,480.85 crore, NH 169 Bikarnakatte-Saanur covering 45 km worth Rs 1,137 crore, and NH 234 BC Road-Punjalkatte covering 19 km Rs 159.70 crore.”

When asked about the Surathkal toll gate issue, Nalin said, “There are legal hurdles. We will look into it. I never said that the Surathkal toll gate is on a temporary basis. We will look to merge the toll gates for which there are legal and technical barriers.”

    Lot of MESS IN MUNICIPALITY while even paying genuine property taxes. All Municipality staff should be sacked. Use to pay taxes every year. But why harassment this time. If new system in computer is adopted, it is YOUR DUTY TO UPDATE IT PROPERLY, WHY, WHY HARASSING PUBLIC???

    If files can dispose in too quickly, why these were kept pending before?!! Is it officers not working or lack of employees in government offices?? If so, why not administration not taking action ontime??

    Good response from you praising your own tail. Has any of the affected families or parities responded with favourable result?. NONO. ZERO. As per BJP formula if people are happy then where is the opportunity for BJP to accomplish its ulterior motive.
